Mayonnaise. The Sleep Med Diaries has moved to Youtube at the suggestions of others. May it bring the realm peace and internet dollars.
Lots of people have been talking with me lately about fitness, exercise, and diet. As someone who’s been in competitive sports their whole life, I’m a bit biased. I’m also gradually becoming a food hippie. In any case, here’s my regimen:
1. Run ~10k four times per week (on average).
2. Walk for ~3 hours per day, four days per week (on average).
3. 20-30 minutes of intermediate-advanced yoga four days per week.
4. One cup of coffee in the morning, and one cup of tea in the afternoon.
5. One sweet thing per day (cake, cookie, chocolate, etc).
6. About three years ago I cut out a lot of sodium from my diet. When I grocery shop, if the food nutritional content says the item has more than 10% of my daily sodium intake, I don’t buy it nor eat it.
7. No soda, pop, iced tea, gingerale, etc. I drink water throughout the day. But I do love me some beer and white wine.
8. Cook as many of my own meals as possible. I cook everything from bread, to soup, meats, etc.
9. No dairy products, and only organic meats/eggs. The dairy because I’m lactose-intolerant, and the organic because I don’t like the idea of hormones and antibiotics in my food.
10. If I don’t know what an ingredient is (and I have a BSc), or understand why it’s in the food, I don’t buy it nor eat it. I’m big on natural ingredients. For example, I don’t eat margarine because it’s got ridiculous chemical ingredients. I use butter instead.
So all that being said, I’m never aiming to be super thin, and I’m never aiming to lose [whatever] amount of pounds. I just try to be healthy, fit, and happy with my health. And that’s all anyone can ask!
This is my life-long bucket list. I’ve only completed about half:
1. Ride a hovercraft.
2. Develop and perfect a recipe for vegetable cookies.
3. Make a ninja cry.
4. Go winter camping.
5. Camp in the desert.
6. Steal the original kilogram.
7. Obtain a piece of Einstein’s brain (I returned it).
8. Become an internet sensation.
I take some sleep meds to help me sleep regularly (don’t worry, it’s all under control). When I take them sometimes I get a bit “loopy” and have conversations worth noting. This is apparently one of them. Mayonnaise.
My friend and I went out to the Doors Open event in Hamilton this past weekend. We got to tour around all the old buildings, historical sites, and cathedrals. It was really interesting, and lots of fun :) I’m definitely going back next year.
